PIERRE KOFFMANN AND MARCO PIERRE WHITE TEAM UP FOR NEW RESTAURANT

Marco Pierre White and one time mentor Pierre Koffmann are to open a restaurant together.

The two legendary chefs will open a restaurant at the Abbey Hotel in Bath, England, this September, Bloomberg’s chief food critic Richard Vines revealed on Twitter.

The restaurant will be brasserie-style, serving British and French classics (presumably Koffmann’s famous stuffed pig trotters, which Pierre White has also had on his menus over the years, will be on there somewhere? Watch Koffmann debone a pigs trotter at the Mad Symposium in Copenhagen recently further down), with plans to roll the concept out if a success.

Pierre White worked under Koffmann at La Tante Claire in London in the early 1980s, before going on to open the acclaimed Harveys, where he won two Michelin stars, training the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Phil Howard.

However, Pierre White’s recent restaurant ventures have picked up less than favourable reviews, while Koffmann closed his flagship restaurant at the Berkeley hotel in London in 2016.

Two huge figures in British gastronomy for sure, but of course that doesn't always gauarantee success or for that matter quality.
