S.PELLEGRINO SAPORI TICINO: A SPREAD OF MICHELIN STARRED DINNERS





The countdown is on to the start of the twelfth edition of S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino, the gastronomic event that will this year concentrate the far and exotic flavors of different worldwide cuisines in Switzerland from 9 April to 17 June.

Ten international guest chefs will join in the celebrations in the new season of the long awaited Ticino festival, representing their culinary traditions in gourmet dishes. In total more than 20 Michelin stars for 20 events will define the excellence of enogastronomy as various gourmet appointments unfold in the Canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

"We have chosen to open up to the world by inviting great international chefs who, this year more than ever, will represent styles, customs and flavors that are always different." commented Dany Stauffacher, festival patron.

THE S.PELLEGRINO SAPORI TICINO PROGRAMME

S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino 2018 kicks off on 9 April ​​with a preview series at The Dolder Grand in Zurich, before moving on to Bern on 11 April at Hotel Schweizerhof and Geneva on 16 April at the Hôtel Beau-Rivage, where Ticinese chefs will be invited to present their creations.

On 29 April the festival arrives in its home for the coming weeks, Ticino, with opening night at the Hotel Splendide Royal in Lugano, where Domenico Ruberto will host chef colleagues Mattias Roock, Dietmar Sawyere and Gregor Zimmermann.

A spread of dinners will follow with a stellar line up of international chefs including Gaggan Anand(5&6 May), Paolo Casagrande (13 May), Michael Kempf (20 May), Tomaž Kavcic (28 May), Giacomo Gaspari (29 May), Søren Selin (11 June) and Emmanuel Renaut (12 June).

Young home grown talent will also get the chance to shine in an evening hosted by three S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 finalists on 22 May at Seven Lugano, The Restaurant namely: David Wälti(winner of Switzerland S.Pellegrino Young Chef), Diego della Schiava (Swiss finalist) and Edoardo Fumagalli, winner of the Italian final of S.Pellegrino Young Chef.

A special evening dedicated to women on 21 May also features, where all participants, from the kitchen, to front of house and seated at the table, will be exclusively women. Chef Aurora Mazzucchelli from Ristorante Marconi and Sasso Marconi (Bologna) will host the night at Ristorante Metamorphosis di Lugano.
