Michelin Guide to the Nordic Countries 2018 – the New Stars

MICHELIN GUIDE TO THE NORDIC COUNTRIES 2018 – THE FULL LIST

The Michelin Guide to the Nordic Countries 2018 has been released, with the big news that Stockholm's Frantzén is Sweden's first ever three-Michelin-star restaurant and the only new restaurant to be awarded Michelin's top honout this year.

Chef Bjorn Frantzén's eponymous restaurant reopened at a new site in the Swedish capital in September 2017, offering countertop, Japanese-Nordic dining to just 23 diners per service. The restaurant is split over three storeys and occupies a 19th century building in Stockholm's downtown. The previous incarnation of the restaurant had held two Michelin stars since 2010, before closing in 2016.

It was a good day for Sweden at the ceremony held at Copenhagen's City Hall, with Daniel Berlinwinning his second star, plus three new one star restaurants. Elsewhere, Copenhagen's Kadeau, helmed by chef Nicolai Nørregaard, won its second star, while both Finland and Norway have one new one star resaturant apiece.
