MICHELIN GUIDE TO FRANCE 2018 – THE NEW STARS





The Michelin Guide to France 2018 has just been revealed at a ceremony in Boulogne-Billancourt, close to Paris, and the big news is that France has two new, three-Michelin-star restaurants.

Following a standing ovation for the late Paul Bocuse, it was revealed that Chef Marc Veyrat's La Maison des Bois in Manigod in the Alps has gained a third star, having been awarded a second in last year's Guide. This is now the third time Varyat has recieved Michelin's highest honour and comes three years after the restaurant was gutted by fire.

The restaurant at the Castellet Hotel in Var, headed by chef Christophe Bacquié, gains a third star also, meaning there are now 28 three-Michelin-star restaurants in France, following the Guide's decision to honour chef Sébastien Bras's recent request to return his restaurant Suquet's three stars.

Overall this year, there are 54 newly starred restaurants, including five new two stars and 47 new one stars. See the full list of newly starred restaurants below.
