Bompas & Parr Celebrate Food in Cinema

Bompas & Parr, the English design studio known for its food-based experience creations and famous for its architectural jellies, recently celebrated the role food can have in movies with the first edition of the Food Film Festival, held in London from 29 January to 1 February 2018.

The event, lauched in collaboration with Mondrian London and Curzon Cinemas, was presented under the auspices of the British Museum of Food, the first world institution dedicated to food and drink, created by Bompas & Parr in 2015.

“The festival is designed to recognise food and drink as the under-appreciated star billing that runs right through the backbone of cinema. That this recognition comes under the umbrella of the British Museum of Food strikes exactly the right chord in terms of engaging the public and helping them appreciate food from a new angle that the museum will continue to convey,” said Sam Bompas, co-director of the design agency.
THE SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Over the course of four days, each of the festiaval curators selected and presented an iconic film in which food has an important role in the cinematic story, accompanied by culinary talks and workshops.

In addition to the film screenings, the festival program also included a short film competition focused on food and drink.
