IKRA 2018: TOP 10 PICKS OF WHAT'S ON

IKRA, which runs from 31 January to 4 February in partnership with Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino, has a host of surprises in store this year as Russia's biggest gastronomy festival.

A spectacular line-up of renowned local chefs and international guest chefs will be in Sochi for the occasion delivering exclusive dinners, masterclasses, lectures, parties and après-ski in a four day schedule that looks set to top last years.

With plenty of live entertainment, unique dining experiences, exclusive chef dinners and cocktails on offer daily, there's enough to tempt and tantalise most food lovers from dusk till dawn. So take your appetite, stamina and skis!

CHEF'S DINNERS


A phenomenal selection of four and six hand dinners are sceduled, between a host of renowned Russian chefs and Michelin starred guest chefs from around the world.

Tickets are selling fast so be sure to sign up for your favourites. There are still some tables to be had at some very exciting dinners as follow:

1 February
Russian chef Georgiy Troyan from Severyane in Moscow and famous Spanish chef Albert Adria from Tickets in Barcelona, kick off the chef dinners in what looks set to be a fascinating four hands combination.

On the same evening head chef Esben Holmboe Bang from 3 Michelin starred Maaemo in Osloand Russian chef Eugene Vikentiev join forces at the Sakhalin in Sochi.

Meanwhile at the Red Fox in Sochi, Virgilio Martinez and Vladimir Mukhin will take to the kitchen together where an exciting riff on Peruvian and Russian food is sure to follow.

2 February
Matthew kenney flies solo on 2 February conducting a masterclass followed by serving a plant based three course dinner.

In a separate exciting dinner, three chefs from three different countries, Mauro Colagreco, Vladimir Mukhin, Jorge Vayeho join forces for an eclectic 6 hands dinner where the creative sparks are sure to fly.

LECTURES/WORKSHOPS


1 February
11.45 - 12.30 - The local host and chef from Moscow's White Rabbit Vladimir Mukhin will give context to the festival with his talk on the evolution of Russian cuisine. Meet Mukhin in our interview.

14:15–15:00 - Virgilio Martinez of Central in Lima representing Latin America will explore the roots of Peruvian cuisine.

2 February
11:45-12:30 - Gaggan Anand from the best restaurant in Asia for three consecutive years will discusss: Indian Progressive Cusine. How to break stereotypes.

3 February

10:30-11:15 - Ruslan Evstigneev & Andrei Shmakov The mentor and young chef finalist representing Russia-CIS talk - from Kazan to Milan. "How to prepare for the international competition S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018."

13:00-13:45 - Mauro Colagreco from Mirazur in Menton will bring "a cuisine on the borders with no borders" to the table.
