Girotonno returns to the small and characteristic Sardinian island of Carloforte from 24 to 27 May - the food festival where tuna reigns!

Over four days the small Italian jewel will boast dozens of events focused on the prized fish that has historically been caught off the island.

The most important event being the cooking challenge when chefs from 8 countries around the world (from France to Lithuania and Malta to Russia), will compete head to head preparing recipes using raw and cooked tuna - the results will be voted for by a jury of experts, and ticketed visitors (15 euros for the semi-finals, 20 euros for the final).



Among the other events at the sixteenth festival dedicated to the enhancement of the ancient tradition of tuna fishing will also be numerous cooking shows by great Italian chefs, talks, free concerts, tastings and a local food market .

There will also be some TV faces: from Giorgione, star of the Giorgione, Orto and Cucina series, to the Italian-American chef and actor Andy Luotto.

Masters Haruo Ichikawa and chef Lorenzo Lavezzari, winners of the last edition, will also be on hand.
