TOYO EATERY IN MANILA IS ASIA’S ONE TO WATCH 2018

Toyo Eatery in Manila, Philippines has been named as the Miele One To Watch ahead of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018 sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, which will take place in Macao on 27 March.

Helmed by chef-owner Jordy Navarra, formerly of The Fat Duck in Bray and Bo Innnovation in Bangkok, and his wife May, who oversees front of house, Toyo Eatery, which has been open since 2016, celebrates local ingredients and the defining flavours of Philippine cuisine. One signature dish features 18 different local vegetables prepared in different ways.

The Miele One to Watch award is awarded to a rising star restaurant that has yet to make the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Previous winners include TocToc in Seoul and Florilège in Tokyo, which this year won its second Michelin star.

Ahead of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2018, which you can live-stream Asia’s in its entirety from 8.45pm Macao time on 27 March on Fine Dining Lovers, two other awards have already been revealed: chef André Chiang is the Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award winner this year, while Asia’s Best Female Chef 2018 is Bee Santongun of Bangkok’s Paste restaurant.
