ORO IS LATIN AMERICA’S ONE TO WATCH
Oro, the Rio de Janeiro restaurant run by husband and wife team Felipe Bronze and Cecilia Aldaz, has been named as the One to Watch ahead of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017 sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Aqua Panna.
Having first opened in 2010, Oro was awarded a Michelin star in the inaugural Guide to Brazil and this year regained it having closed temporarily for relocation. Situated in the city’s Leblon neighbourhood, the new Oro finds Bronze, who started in the kitchens of Nobu and Le Bernardin and is something of a celebrity chef in Brazil, with several TV shows and books to his name, experimenting with fire cooking.
Diners can choose from a seasonal tasting menu, created with ingredients bought that day in the local markets, or a simple menu of two signature dishes, washed down with Aldaz’s drinks pairings, which can include wines, beers and local cachaças. Diners are encouraged to eat with their hands.

Two further awards have also been announced ahead of the ceremomy: Leonor Espinosa is Latin America's Best Female Chef and Guillermo González Beristáin is The Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
